Company overview
Makhabisi Recycling and Trading, located in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, is a 100% black female owned company that started in 2007 and formally registered in 2009.
Makhabisi Recycling is dedicated to being an inclusive green business, supporting the creation of social equity and generating decent jobs. People are at the centre of our business and we have made it our business to ensure we create a positive impact in all facets of our business.
The Team
Co-directors, Harriet Matjila and Anna Hartebeest, named the business in recognition of the people who dedicate themselves to beautifying the world around them.
While the company started with only five people, as of October 2016, 60 local people are now employed by Makhabisi. As a people-driven organisation, Makhabisi Recycling and Trading is passionate about building capacity and self-reliance within the business and community as a whole.
